Description

The Todlem Perla is a sleeveless ivory occasion dress for girls, cut in China Patti, a satin jacquard with a floral woven into the cloth rather than printed on it.

The oversized rounded collar is beaded by hand with pearls and small flowers, and a long panel falls from the centre of the collar, beaded to match at its ends. It is named Perla for them. The back is where the dress turns: a deep V opens between the shoulders, edged on both sides with a fine line of pearls and closed at its base with a generous bow in the same cloth.

The silhouette is a simple A-line with a soft cap shoulder, cut to move easily and to let the beadwork and the sheen of the cloth carry the dress.

Ivory and formal, it is equally a flower girl dress, a christening dress and a party dress, made for weddings, nikkah and walima celebrations, Eid and family portraits. In Pakistan it carries the wedding season; in Dubai it suits formal events year-round.

Available in sizes 2 to 11 years. Made slowly, in small numbers, the kind of dress that is worn for a particular day and remembered long afterwards.
