Description

The Todlem Bleuet is a two-piece set for girls in cobalt blue Melton: a tailored jacket with a contrast grey-blue collar and turned-back cuffs, worn with a full box-pleated skirt.

The jacket is cut short and neat, with self-covered buttons down the front and a fine line of contrast piping following the front edge and hem. It is fully lined. The skirt falls from a fitted waistband into deep box pleats that hold their shape and swing when she moves.

Melton is a brushed, densely woven wool cloth; warm without bulk, and structured enough to keep a pleat through a long day. It is the reason the jacket holds its line and the skirt keeps its volume.

Wear the two together for birthdays and winter celebrations, or separately: the jacket over a dress, the skirt with a blouse. Made slowly, in small numbers, the kind of set that is worn, loved and eventually passed on.
